BOOGEDY! Prague - Cheap and Satisfying Ahhh life is wonderful. I'm paying ~$1.00/.5 liter of yummy local beer and ~$2.00/hr for computer time on a keyboard on which I can touch-type! I just had the yummiest, most filling, and cheapest meal yet in Europe at a Restaurant suggested by the gentlemen who found my room for me. He, Jarek, met me at train when I arrived and then drove me (my first time in a car in a month!) to the place in the center of Old Town. 3 beds, big room and a sink all just for me ~$20/night. He gets a HUGE thanks when I see him next for his vegetarian restaurant recommendation. ~$2.50 for 7 different wonderful Indian dishes and "come back for seconds!" from the nice guy who served me my plate. I thanked him when I left and agreed that I would certainly be back. Itinerary - yeah right. Today was aimless wandering, people watching, sightseeing in daylight, and checking out a bunch of glass, puppet, and jewelry shops. Tonight is a black-light theatre (bought my ticket earlier) and more wandering. Tomorrow morning is the Castle. Tomorrow night I haven't figured out yet...maybe a train to Budapest. I'm recently told that, "If you find Czeck really strange, you should try to listen to some Hungarian, that is by far the most ununderstandable language I ever had to cope with." This bodes not well, but challenging! Current Events - who me? Rinato (Physicist studying hearing, not the one studying quantum teleportation) asked me about recent Microsoft events yesterday, and I explained that I'd not paid the slightest attention to the news in the last month. If anyone wants to give me an update on anything they think I should know about...Feel free. Perhaps I'll go surf the Times et al after this email - perhaps not. -Jason JMGEUR 27.4.00 18h43 |
