Okay...Back on
track...
"I could almost sprint it feels so light"
leaving the hostel this
morning at 6am I told mom that my backpack felt too light...I'd checked
the room, gotten everything...but still it felt too light. I shrugged
it off to a burst of early morning energy and checked it just before
boarding the train. Left my toiletries bag in the bathroom.. of the
hostel.. two blocks away from the train station. I copied down the next
train's data, told mom I'd meet her on that train from Florence to Paris
if I didn't make it two blocks, 1 flight, and back in 7 minutes. I made
it...and sweated for the first half hour of the train ride. Even at
6h30...Italy is TOO HOT to be sprinting with your backpack. Lesson:
Do not EVER say, even in jest, "I could sprint in this it feels
to light"
"The most beautiful place I've ever seen"
So...Every last one of you needs to go to Norway if you've never been
there. If you have already seen the fjords...go back...and take me with
you. I needed a physical reminder of this place...and now have a ring
on my right pinky to balance against the one I have had on my left for
a few years now. Rivers, Mountains, Snow, Waterfalls, Vineyards, Tiny
Villages, and the most WONDERFUL colors imaginable...I loved it...and
I burned A LOT of film.
"I can take him"
Michelangelo's David just has the most fantastic expression imaginable.
I love his face and his oversized hand.
"HOW MUCH?"
I found out yesterday what AT&T wants for the calls I've been making...let's
just say I shan't be calling any of you fine folks again any time soon.
I love you all just as much, but it's going to be much more strictly
about emails henceforth, my friends.
"Do you know who I am?"
I returned to the Twins Bar to give Mossimo the CD of the band we'd
heard covered, what, 3..4...5? weeks before. I never got to see Max,
but I may as well have...Jean Luc (spelling?) looks, pardon the words
choice, identical to him. It made me miss Debbie and Wendy Aleshire,
identical twins, and my best friends in elementary school.
"Damn"
Sometime in the last week...I couldn't even guess what city...I lost
my journal. I've saved EVERY email that I've sent and received...and
they are now my new journal. I'm still very sad about this.
"The Melting People"
I got to spend the afternoon in a Dali exhibit today. a half dozen large
rooms full of pictures and sculptures. I really enjoy Dali and hadn't
gotten to see too much of him yet.
"Traveling in Style"
Taking a sleeper car tonight to Paris...12 hour trip...ahhh...Joy.
Oh yeah...we're in Florence today This cafe is right on the river...very
cool.
Be well, my friends!
